In a bold step to support the fight against the scourge of cancer, ace broadcaster Bimbo Oloyede plans to raise N100 million for cancer treatment as well as research and development. This was revealed during a media conference held on Thursday in Lagos at the International Press Centre, Ogba, where Oloyede also announced plans to celebrate her seventieth birthday on March 15, 2023.
Speaking to the media via a hybrid online and physical platform, Oloyede stated that the goal of raising N100 million is personal to her and her family because they have been victims of cancer in the past, both winning and losing the fight.

She stated that a board of trustees has been constituted under the Lifeline Advocacy and Development Initiative to raise the fund and manage its disbursement and accountability. The Lifeline Advocacy and Development Initiative’s Fidelity Bank Account No. 5601206418 is the name of the organization.
According to the broadcaster, the BoT members include Dr. Christopher Kolade CON, Mrs. Busola Talabi (ED Legal Globacom/director Julius Berger Plc), Dr. Sola Momoh (vice chairman, Channels Media Group), Dr. Raymond Kuti (MD/CEO Prisms Healthcare Ltd), Mr. Kingsley James (CEO IDCL Nigeria), and herself, Mrs. Bimbo Oloyede, as the co-coordinator of LADI (Lifeline Initiative). In her statement, Oloyede stated, “There’s nothing greater than being acknowledged by one’s own constituency and being present here. This really makes my heart happy. I felt compelled to tell you about my intentions for my 70th birthday.”
