Tech entrepreneur Fatu Ogwuche launched “Backstories with Fatu” on YouTube this Tuesday, November 28th.
Hosted on her channel, Big Tech This Week, the show explores the life stories of influential figures in the African tech scene and the defining moments that shaped them.
The inaugural episode featured a 40-minute conversation with Kola Aina, Ventures Platform’s founding partner, and an influential entrepreneur.
The discussion covered various topics, including Aina’s pre-tech investor background, his criteria for supporting founders, and insights into Paystack’s exit.
Notably, Aina shared how Ventures Platform intervened during the ThriveAgric crisis in 2020, addressing the startup’s challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aina emphasized his personal rule of supporting founders he deems morally sound, aiming to steer clear of investment pitfalls. “We want to back founders who are decent people, who treat their co-founders and employees decently, and who are respectful because, to be honest, it ultimately bubbles to the top.”
In a press release, Ogwuche stressed that the series goes beyond mere entertainment, serving as a practical resource for emerging tech entrepreneurs and offering seasoned industry insights to established insiders.
