Tobi Amusan, Nigeria’s sprint star, continued her dominance in the women’s 100m hurdle with an excellent performance at the current 13th African Games in Ghana, crossing the finish line in 12.29 seconds to win her third straight gold medal.
At the University of Ghana on Wednesday night, the world record holder finished in 12.29 seconds, considerably ahead of her closest rivals, Madagascar’s Sidonie Fiadanantsoa in 13.19 seconds and Zimbabwe’s Kamangirira Ashley Tinashe in 13.59 seconds.

Following her victories in Brazzaville in 2015, Rabat in 2019, and Accra in 2023, the world record holder extends her record as the only athlete to have won it more than once.
Amusan was on the verge of disqualification following a false start to her initial effort to start the race.
The officials, however, let her off the hook, issuing her a yellow card instead.
The triumph marked Amusan’s third African Games title in a row.
