Ex-Chelsea player Geremi Njitap files for divorce due to paternity fraud

Geremi Njitap, a former Chelsea star, has filed for divorce after discovering that he raised twins who were never his children during their 12-year marriage.

The 45-year-old has been married to Toukam Fotso Laure Verline for more than a decade.

According to the UK Sun, court documents from Geremi’s native Cameroon state that Toukam “destroyed the harmony” of their marriage “through her abject behavior.”

They further cite her “repeated lies” and state, “No children have been born from this union.”

Toukam claimed the twins, born in June 2008—four years before the couple’s marriage—were his, which prompted them to marry.

“But the discovery that the children were from her previous partner destroyed the couple’s harmony,” according to the court papers.

Between 2003 and 2007, Geremi made 109 appearances for Chelsea and scored four goals.

He played with Real Madrid from 1999 until 2003.

On the international stage, he was a member of the Cameroon team that won two consecutive AFCON titles in 2000 and 2002.
