“The significance is that it’s going to provide the opportunity for information officers from the Ministry of Information and State Orientation to do their work in line with clear guidelines.”
She encouraged the state government to guarantee that the SOP is adopted as a functional document, while participants must use it wisely.

In a keynote address, the state commissioner for information and state orientation, represented by the acting permanent secretary, Mr. Egwu Anya Nkama, praised the agency for its efforts in building an atmosphere favorable to the professional development of the Ministry of Information’s officers.
He stated that the workshop offered information officers a unique opportunity to contribute to the formulation of the “Standard Operating Procedure,” a document that would assure the efficiency of information management.

“This is the first time information officers are given the opportunity to develop a working document they are going to use, which is called the Standard Operating Procedure.”
Mr. Eugene Ebenyi, the head of the department for film and public enlightenment, praised the initiatives and called for ongoing training, equipping, and recognition of information officers, adding that such gestures will ensure that information officers remain committed to carrying out their duties.
