The Nigerian Police Force has announced the successful restoration of normalcy to Ile-Epo in the Abule Egba area of Lagos State following clashes between youths and hoodlums. The PUNCH reported numerous injuries resulting from the clashes in the Ile-Epo area, which began on Wednesday night and continued into Thursday morning, resulting in the destruction of shops and goods.
However, on Thursday afternoon, the police, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Oke-Odo, responded to the unrest in Ile-Epo. Over fifty suspects linked to the clashes were apprehended, and their shanties were demolished to dislodge them from their illicit activities.
During the operation, law enforcement officers discovered a hidden drug den, revealing the extent of criminal activities in the area and raising concerns about drug-related issues.

The Lagos State Police Command, in a statement signed by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this development on Thursday, stating that Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, had ordered the prompt prosecution of the arrested hoodlums. Additionally, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations), Area Commander Alagbado, and other Divisional Police Officers remained on the ground to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order in the area.
