Both penalties came as a result of sloppy tackles in the area on Alejandro Garnacho, and both occurred against the run of play, with Everton dominating for extended periods against a United midfield that frequently gave the ball away.
According to ESPN, Fernandes scored the first goal from the penalty spot in the 12th minute, and United’s captain then passed the ball to Rashford for the second in the 36th.
Rashford stutter-stepped before sending goalkeeper Jordan Pickford the wrong way.
