2023 WWC: Super Falcon’s Ucheibe tagged best tackler

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) have ranked Super Falcons star, Christy Ucheibe as the sixth best tackler at the recently concluded 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

FIFA released the ranking on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday.
Ucheibe featured in all of Super Falcons four games at the competition.

The Benfica of Portugal midfielder made 36 tackles at the quadrennial tournament.
Australia’s Katrina Gorry topped the list with 59 tackles with Jackie Groenan of Netherlands and George Stanway of England joint second with 44 tackles.

Sweden’s Filipa Angeldahl is third (43 tackles) and at number four is Grace Geroyo of France (40 tackles). England’s Lucy Bronze sits in fifth position with 37 tackles.

The Super Falcons bowed out of the competition in the last- 16 after losing 4-2 on penalties to the Three Lionesses of England.
