Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creativity, has also expressed heartfelt regret over Mr. Ibu’s death.
The 62-year-old comedian died at a hospital on Saturday after a prolonged illness.
The minister, who condemned the incident as “one death, too many,” noted that it occurred only 24 hours after the death of another Nollywood comic, Sisi Quadri.
“I’m appalled that so many people have died at the same moment. Mr. Ibu was a household name who made families happy during his acting career.
“His loss at this time is tragic and sad for everyone in the entertainment industry. We will dearly miss him,” Musawa said, “May his soul rest in peace.”
