After the Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, Vice President Kashim Shettima met with them and assured them that the Federal Government would reward them for their “commitment and dedication.”

This was revealed by the Super Eagles early on Thursday through a statement and pictures posted on their official X handle.

“The Federal Government has promised to reward the Super Eagles for their commitment and dedication in reaching the Africa Cup of Nations final in Cote d’Ivore,” the statement stated.

Vice President Kashim Shettima expressed the pride of the Nigerian government and people in their hard-earned victory over South Africa in the semi-finals on Wednesday to the players and officials in the dressing room.

Governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Minister for Youths Dr. Jamila Ibrahim, oil magnate Wale Tinubu, FIFA Council member Amaju Pinnick, and NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau were all present with the vice president.

Techrectory reports that the Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalties to qualify to the tournament’s final.

With 15 appearances, Nigeria holds the record for most appearances in the AFCON semi-finals.
