Paul Pogba Vows To Appeal Doping Ban In CAS

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba has promised to contest his four-year suspension from sport by the anti-doping tribunal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), emphasizing that he is innocent and has never knowingly taken any drug that falls within the category of doping.

Paul Pogba, who described himself as “shocked and heartbroken,” said his career had been ruined after receiving a four-year ban for failing a drug test.

Pogba, one of the most recognizable names in international football and once the most expensive player, has promised to challenge the career-ending sentence, claiming he has never cheated by using a banned substance.

The 30-year-old said in a statement: “I was told of the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping’s decision today and believe it is erroneous. I am saddened, startled, and upset that all I have built over my professional playing career has been ripped away from me.

“When I am free of legal restrictions, the full story will be revealed, but I have never knowingly or intentionally taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations.” As a professional athlete, I would never use forbidden substances to boost my performance, and I have never mistreated or cheated fellow athletes or supporters of any team I have played for or against.

“As a result of the ruling issued today, I will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.”
