Nigeria Is At Critical Stage – Haliru

Nigeria

Alhaji Abdul Hamid Haliru, the new chairman of the Traditional Youth Chief Forum of Nigeria (Sarkin Samarin Nigeria), has stated that the country is at a critical point and does not require resistance at this time, but rather all hands on deck to overcome its difficulties.

Haliru, who mentioned this in his inauguration speech in Abuja over the weekend, urged Nigerians, regardless of political, religious, or ethnic differences, to collaborate with government at all levels by delivering genuine advice and proposing ideas that will lift the country out of the dungeon and into the eldorado.

Sarkin Samarin Nigeria urged Nigerian youths to be optimistic and innovative in order to take on leadership roles in the country, ensuring that his reign will advocate the cause of youth advancement and empowerment so that they could become leaders today, not only ‘tomorrow’, as is often asserted.

“Nigeria is at a critical juncture; we don’t need resistance right now; we need everyone working together. Everyone can provide valuable suggestions and thoughts.

So, all hands are on deck. We don’t have adversaries; we just have various ideas and viewpoints that we want to bring together to make a stronger force.

“Nigerian youngsters should be optimistic and creative; creativity is extremely important, and that is what we will bring to the table. Leadership at any level or capacity cannot be done without innovation. It is not only about the leader’s charisma or character. It demands a great deal of imagination.

“And one crucial lesson I have for the youth is that anyone who is unable to follow cannot lead. So, learn to obey your elders, respect them, and be creative about it,” he said.

Also speaking, the Sarkin Samarin Lafia, Aliyu Shehu, stated that as traditional youth leaders representing various Emirate councils around the country, they will create a course for the government and young people to press ahead for Nigeria’s prosperity.

He stated, “We are very close to youths, and as you know, youths make up the majority of the population today.” You cannot do anything politically, economically, or otherwise without the involvement of young people.

“To our new chairman, you see, he is a very vibrant young man who has been in the struggle, and we know that bringing people like this on board will encourage unity among the Sarkin Samari organizations in the various Emirates. He will go a long way toward bringing people along. He will bring up programs that will better the lives of our people.”

She stated that she will collaborate with the forum’s new national leadership to address young problems while also addressing issues of obligatory marriage, lack of empowerment, and access to education among female adolescents.

“What women will do to assist this new leadership is to work as a team in our different states to ensure that the youth’s issues are addressed. I’m going to make certain that everything that belongs to the youth is given to them.

“We will investigate the difficulties that young women face, such as compulsory marriage, school dropout, and a lack of empowerment. These are only a few of the challenges we will address to help these young women,” she said.
