Minister Inspects Moshood Abiola Stadium Pitch

Stadium

Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of Sports Development, examined the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja yesterday to verify that the turf grass is properly treated and maintained with chemicals that will promote growth and bring out the vibrant green color.

“I cannot have an office in the stadium as the Minister of Sports and watch the grass not grow to be used for events,” the senator went on to say.

He reminded the contractors treating the turf grass that significant events will be held at the stadium early next month, so they needed to be up and running to get the grass to turn a brighter color, giving the stadium a fresh look that is on par with international standards.

The contractors responded by saying that even though it will take sixteen weeks to kill the termites that are chewing up the turf, events can still be staged at the stadium.
He also stated that they had been provided with all of the necessary logistics to complete their task as planned.
