A Kano High Court sitting on Miller Road convicted a Chinese national, Frank Geng-Quangrong, to death by hanging for the murder of his girlfriend in Kano in 2022.
In a verdict issued on Tuesday, Justice Sanusi Ado-Ma’aji stated that the accused was found guilty of the offense, convicted, and sentenced to death by hanging until his last breath.

Geng-Quangrong was arrested and held by police in September 2022 for culpable homicide in the murder of his 22-year-old lover, Ummukulsum Buhari, at her home in Janbulo Quarters, Kumbotso LGA, Kano.
The prosecution stated that the offense violated Section 221(b) of the Penal Code Law.
