Just in: 27 lawmakers decamp to APC in Rivers

In the House of Assembly of Rivers State, 27 legislators have defected to the All Progressives Congress, or APC.

The lawmakers, who were elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, announced their decision at the Monday plenary at the Rivers Assembly Complex.

The legislators are those who work for Rt. Hon. Martin Amaehwule. Rumor has claimed that the legislators support Federal Capital Territory Minister Chief Nyesom Wike.

Recall that the attempt to remove Sir Siminalayi Fubara from office by the legislative branch of the government resulted in a major crisis.
