Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has paid a total of N10 million as medical bills for some patients, including Lailatu Shuaibu Bello from Jada and Suwane Boniface from Numan, who underwent successful benign tumour surgeries at the Specialist Hospital in Yola.

The governor also directed immediate surgery for an indigent patient under the care of the same hospital.
The surgery was conducted successfully by a team of four surgeons led by the medical director, Dr Wadinga Dauda.
Governor Fintiri donated cash to the patients and others in the ward to cater for their needs.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, the state’s Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, reiterated the government’s commitment to reaching out to patients who are unable to afford their medical bills.
“The government is extending a helping hand to indigent patients, especially those who cannot cater to their medical bills. In addition to settling their medical bills, a token has also been presented to them,” she said.
Dr Dauda expressed his appreciation for the governor’s support and praised the team’s efforts, noting that the surgery’s success was a result of their collective team effort.
He further confirmed that the patients, including the indigent one who received the immediate surgery, are responding well to treatment.
