Experts to Promote Cybersecurity Awareness in the Public Sector

“The incorporation of modern technologies has clearly increased the efficiency of government operations, but it has also introduced new dangers such as identity theft and phishing. As a result, there is an urgent need for comprehensive cybersecurity education and preparation.

It went on to say, “The Ethnos Cybersecurity Erudition Series aims to address these critical concerns by offering a forum for security experts and public-sector players to engage in instructive discussions and knowledge sharing.

“With the theme ‘Navigating Cybersecurity Risks: Strategies for Securing Your Digital Perimeters’, the event emphasized the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding against evolving cyber threats.”

The event’s features include a special message from Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and a keynote talk by technology evangelist and investor Yemi Keri.

Bradley Dupreez, an identity security expert from South Africa, will also deliver a technical session. The event will also feature contributions from esteemed figures such as Kashifu Abdullahi, DG of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr. Aminu Maida, EVC/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Vincent Olatunji, national commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), and Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote, DG/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), among others.

Peter Ejiofor, CEO of Ethnos, expressed delight in the event, emphasizing its focus on identity security and its importance to directors and technology experts from various government organizations.

The event, co-hosted by OneIdentity/Quest, will feature presentations from both local and international specialists on proactive tactics for reducing digital threats, an exploration of the developing nature of identity threats, and insights into risk prevention and detection.
