Coup Calls Driven By Criminals Losing Ground To Military — Group

Nigeria

Advocates for Democracy and Development (ADD), a civil society group, warned on Monday that those advocating for the military to remove the civilian government benefit from the country’s security issues.

According to a news release, the CSO resorted to calling for a coup to cause disorder in the country as the Armed Forces of Nigeria, led by Gen. Chris Gwabin Musa, gained ground in the campaign against bandits, terrorists, and other criminals.

ADD denounced the coup plotters as malicious and retrogressive, claiming they have no good intentions for the country.

In a press release, the CSO applauded the Chief of Defense Staff for issuing a severe warning to anyone calling for a coup d’état.

The CDS further declared that coup plotters are “enemies of Nigeria” and promised to use the full force of the law to defeat them.

According to Gen. Musa, “Whoever is calling for the coup does not love Nigeria. We want to make it obvious that Nigeria’s Armed Forces are here to preserve democracy.

According to a press statement issued by Advocates for Democracy and Development and signed by Convener Gbenga Osho, the military is making sacrifices to keep the country safe and secure, while certain evil-minded people seek to cause more instability.

The organization expressed satisfaction that the Nigerian military has played an important role in advancing democracy in the country.

“We are pleased that the current leadership of Nigeria’s Armed Forces, led by General Chris Gwabin Musa, has repeatedly stated that the military is faithful to the constitution and President and Commander-in-Chief Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“We in ADD urge Nigerians to continue to support the military under Gen. Chris Musa, who has shown determination to quickly restore peace and stability and remain loyal to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” said the Chief of Staff of Nigeria.
