Arewa Group Seeks Protection, Expresses Confidence In Defence Minister

ATA

Arewa Trading Association (ATA), a northern group, has called on the federal government to act and stop the robbery of its members’ goods in transit.

Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Hassan, the ATA’s national president, stated this during a meeting of the body’s leadership with Dr. Muhammad Abubakar Badaru, the minister of defence.

Hassan, who expressed confidence in the minister, complained that people who plundered their belongings believed they belonged to the government.

He noted that the group has suffered numerous defeats as a result of insecurity, including the deaths of members and the destruction of investments.

While urging the government to investigate the matter, he promised the government that ATA would provide all necessary assistance to achieve its objectives.

The minister of defence welcomed the visitors and assured them that he would relay their demands to the president.

“I thank you on behalf of all members of the APC party, and I assure you that we will discuss all the demands you have expressed with the President, and I will present them to him,” the minister was quoted as saying.
