Senegal and Mali have received various fines for incidents that occurred at the recently finished Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition in Cote d’Ivoire.
The CAF Disciplinary Board issued the punishments. The Fédération Malienne de Football was charged with misconduct after its players displayed unsportsmanlike behavior toward match officials.
The Disciplinary Board found Hamari Traore guilty of unsporting behavior toward a match official. He was therefore suspended for four matches.
Two of the four, however, have been suspended for one year. Additionally, the Fédération Malienne de Football was fined $10,000 USD.

The competition winners, Cote d’Ivoire, had their football association charged with team misconduct in a match against Mali. Consequently, it was fined $5,000.
In the Round of 16 encounter between Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire, Senegalese player Krepin Diatta was accused of bringing CAF into disgrace for statements made after the game.
The disciplinary board found him guilty. Diatta was suspended for four matches, two of which were for a year. He was also fined $10,000 USD.
The Fédération Sénégalaise de Football was also charged with team misconduct and fined $5,000 USD.
In a Confederation Cup match between Hila SC of Libya and Future FC of Egypt, Al Hilal SC was charged with misconduct after incidents involving boisterous spectators. They were found guilty and will now play their next two CAF Inter Club matches behind closed doors. Al Hilal SC was also fined $15,000 USD.
