2027: ADC Allows Ihedioha to Join Its Fold

ADC

Chilos Godsent, the national vice chairman (South East) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has stated that the party in Imo State is willing to accept Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Imo State’s immediate past governor, if he decides to join the party.

In a release issued on Thursday, Godsent also stated that Ihedioha may have rejected the request to join the Labour Party (LP) due to the party’s mounting internal problems and the alleged strained connection between Ihedioha, Peter Obi, and the Labour Party’s leadership in Imo State.

He stated that the former governor is considering joining the ADC as a political candidate.
He stated, “In response to Hon. Emeka Ihedioha’s fans and supporters’ calls to abandon the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), some foot soldiers and the Advance Party of Emeka Ihedioha may have opened discussions with the Leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in order to clear the way for Emeka Ihedioha to officially announce his decision to join the ADC.”

“Information available shows that Ihedioha may have rejected the proposal and calls to join the Labour Party (LP) because of the growing internal crises within the LP and the perceived strained relationship between Emeka Ihedioha, Peter Obi, and the leadership of the LP in Imo State.”
The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives had been pressured by his ardent fans to abandon the PDP following its disastrous performance in the state’s most recent governorship elections.

He was rumored to have finalized arrangements to join the Labour Party, where he will run again in 2027, as desired by his fans.
Godsent, on the other hand, stated that “Emeka Ihedioha is considering joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and the party will welcome him with open arms.”

“Many political heavyweights in Imo State and Anambra State have been discussing their desire to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before the end of July 2024 with the ADC leadership since the beginning of March 2024.

“The best option for Emeka Ihedioha and other political heavyweights in the South East who want to win elections in 2027 is to join the ADC, which is the only party that is both intact and filled with men of substance who can wrestle power from the ruling APC in Imo State’s 2027 governorship election.

“I repeat, ADC is the fastest-growing opposition political party in the South East with programs to salvage the South East from the ravaging insecurity, political slavery, and economic quagmire,” the politician stated.
