England captain, Millie Bright has explained why her team lost 1-0 against Spain in the 2023 FIFA
Women’s World Cup final on Sunday.

A first-half goal from Olga Carmona ensured Spain defeated England at the Stadium Australia.

Speaking at her post-match interview, Bright said England players were not at their best against Spain, especially in the first half.

The 29-year-old also insisted that the Spain team were fantastic, adding that the World Cup final was hard.

She said, “It’s hard. They are a fantastic team. We were not at our best in the first half.

“In the second half, we put the fight in. We just could not finish it today.

“This is the hard part of football.”
