18-year-old Stabs Friend, 25, to Death in Bauchi

Usman Ibrahim, an 18-year-old native of Magama-Gumau in Bauchi State’s Toro Localve Gornment Area, stabbed his friend Khalid Ibrahim, 25, to death on Tuesday following a quarrel between them.

A heated disagreement broke out among a group of young men, including the deceased, and eventually turned into a fight between the two.

Ahmed Muhammed Wakil, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Bauchi State Command, confirmed the event on Wednesday, stating that the suspect stabbed the deceased in the chest with a sharp knife, resulting in his death.

“Yesterday (Tuesday), March 26, 2024, at around 2000 hrs, the Command received a complaint of criminal homicide from the Gumau outstation involving two individuals, Khalid Ibrahim, 25 years old, and Usman Ibrahim, 18 years old, both from Magama-Gumau town in Toro LGA of Bauchi State.

“The two engaged in a struggle, during which Usman Ibrahim used a sharp knife on Khalid Ibrahim, causing significant injuries to his body. Upon receiving the report, the command, under the capable leadership of Commissioner of Police Auwal Musa Mohammed, directed the DPO of Toro Division to proceed immediately to the scene.

“The victim was promptly evacuated and taken to the General Hospital in Toro for medical treatment in accordance with established rules and global best practices. However, upon arrival at the hospital, a medical doctor pronounced him dead. His body was released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic customs.

“CP Auwal Musa Mohammed has instructed the DPO of Toro Division to conduct an impartial investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. The findings of the investigation will be made public,” the PPRO declared.
