Zinox Technologies, a prominent technology giant, has collaborated with the Imo State Government to empower 15,000 young individuals with essential digital skills under the SkillUpImo project.

The ceremony, held at the bustling Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, brought together esteemed dignitaries from various sectors. The likes of Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, and Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, graced the event, emphasizing the significance of this collaboration.

Nkiru Onyejeocha, Minister of State for Labour & Employment, along with numerous Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and industry leaders, were also in attendance.

In his role as the Special Guest of Honour, Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group, commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for his visionary digital empowerment scheme. Ekeh remarked, “It’s unprecedented. You can quote me. I don’t know what inspired the Governor. He has put a futuristic system in place.”

Ekeh’s admiration for the governor’s efforts extended to the beneficiaries of this program. He encouraged them, saying, “If I am one of you today; I will take that tool, go home, invite my parents, brothers and sisters and hold hands and pray for the Governor, his family and his government. If you don’t do it, you’ve failed yourself.”

Furthermore, Governor Uzodinma emphasized the enduring importance of digital knowledge, stating, “Digital knowledge is becoming increasingly important in the modern world. As more and more aspects of our lives move online, it’s important to have a good understanding of how to use digital technologies effectively.”

Governor Uzodinma also revealed plans for the future, stating, “With another 40,000 Imo youths about to begin training in Cohort 3 of the SkillUpImo program, Imo State is set to become the digital hub of Nigeria and Africa.”

This partnership between Zinox Technologies and the Imo State Government marks a significant milestone in equipping young graduates with essential digital skills, fostering their potential as wealth creators in the tech-driven global landscape.
