Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has cleared the air over the alleged use of bullet proof car worth N300 million as the minister.
Wike, who made the clarification in Abuja on Wednesday, after a tour of the Abuja Metro Rail project, said it is not true that the car he uses, since assumption of office as FCT minister, is a bulletproof car.
The minister maintained that what the FCT permanent secretary, Olusade Adesola presented to him, as his official car, when he resumes duties was not a bulletproof vehicle as alleged in some quarters.
While supporting his statement, the minister openly showed his official car to the media and those present, and even asked some press men to touch and confirm if his official car was bulletproof.
According to him, “I have no bullet proof vehicle check the car I am using, you can confirm, ordinarily I wouldn’t bother, but you can confirm. When I came the Permanent Secretary said there are vehicles for me and that’s what I’m using.” Wike said.
A viral social media report had accused Wike of using a N300 million bullet proof vehicle”.
