Palliatives: DSS tasks northeast govs to prioritise distribution

Directors of the Department of State Services (DSS) has tasked North-East Governors to prioritise the distribution of relief materials to boost food gains in the areas affected by insurgence.

The Directors gave the charge in a communique released at the end of the quarterly conference held at the state headquarters of the DSS in Maiduguri, the Borno State.

The top-secret police operatives had gathered in Maiduguri to discuss the zone’s security and the role of intelligence gathering in the fight against terrorism.

According to the communique, the DSS directors in the zone led by its chairman, Abdullahi Hussani, after the meeting, paid courtesy visit to the State Governor, Babagana Zulum, and presented a communique of their deliberations.

Governor Zulum who doubles as the Chairman of the North-East Governors’ Forum, commended the directors and expressed commitment to collaborate with his counterparts across the zone to ensure peace is restored.

Furthermore, Zulum vowed to follow-up with governors of Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe and Bauchi States to ensure the proper distribution of the relief materials to the affected people.
