President Bola Tinubu is deeply saddened to learn of the death of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the President expressed condolences to the Olubadan’s family, the administration of Oyo State, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Oyo State Traditional Council, and the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State for this tragic loss.
President Tinubu lamented the Olubadan while honoring his outstanding life of service to his people, state, and nation.

“His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, was a remarkable king who used his hereditary stool to serve humanity. He was caring, brave, and an unwavering supporter of the noble principles of peace, honesty, and togetherness. His wise advice will be greatly missed at this moment in our country’s history,” according to the president.
Tinubu advised all those in sorrow to find peace in the Olubadan’s immortal legacies, noting that the Olubadan lives eternally in his good actions and in the memory of everyone touched by the majesty of his spirit.
The President prayed for the repose of the departed souls as well as comfort for those mourning this tragic loss.
