Sporting Lagos earned a 2-0 win over Gombe United in their first match of the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League season Techrectory reports live.

The Newly-promoted side made light work of Gombe United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan, Lagos on Monday evening

The hosts started on a bright note and could not convert most of their chances until Rivio Ayemwenre broke the deadlock just before halftime.

He finished off Jonathan Alukwu’s cross with a well-placed header.

The Paul Offor-led team presented the Super 8 trophy at halftime to the delight of their teeming supporters.

Sporting Lagos goalkeeper Christian Nwoke made series of impressive saves in the encounter to keep his side in the game.

Former NPFL top scorer, Junior Lokosa came off the bench to make his NPFL debut for the Noisy Lagosians.

Clement Naantum added the second goal in the 71st minute.

Christian Nwoke conceded a last-minute penalty in the 94th minute, but Mojeeb Odufeso failed to convert from the spot to ensure the match ended 2-0 in favour of the hosts.
