The Supreme Court has set aside the judgment of the Court of Appeal which removed Governor Caleb Muftwang of Plateau State.
A five-member panel of justices on Friday unanimously held that the appeal by Governor Muftwang has merit and is therefore allowed.
The lead judgment read by Justice Emmanuel Agim held that the petitions filed by Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe and the APC against the nomination of Governor Muftwang was without locus standi as they were not members of the PDP.
The panel held that the issue nomination was an internal affair of the political party, adding that the high court order for conduct of congresses was complied with by the PDP.
“The orders of the court has nothing to do with the powers of the national executive of the party to conduct primary,” he said.
