Balarabe Kaduna nominee, slumps before Senate

Balarabe Abbas Lawal a ministerial nominee from Kaduna state collapsed and fainted at the Senate chamber while making presentation to Senators on his biography and exposure in life prior to his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to serve as Minister in his government.

Balarabe is the nominee who ranked second in the line up of nominees to be secreened by the upper house after Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara state.

Balarabe who was ushered in into the hallowed chamber by the sergeant at arm and started making introductory remark before he suddenly collapsed and fainted.

Balarabe sudden collapse threw the plenary session into a panic mood as senators rushed to help revive him.

President of Senate, Godswill Akpiabio quickly called for water and sugar to be administered to him.

Akpabio also immediately called for a closed session.
