The State Vice Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo Central senatorial district, High Chief Francis Inegbeniki has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebohlo on his emergence as Edo APC Governorship candidate for the general election slated for September in Edo State.
Inegbeniki, Uzoya of Esan Land in a statement on Saturday in Benin, thanked Edo State APC members particularly from Edo South and Edo North for voting for Senator Okpebohlo as flag bearer of the party, noting that Esan people will not take this support and trust for granted.
“ Let me thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC National Working Committee NWC, APC Governors and party stakeholders for standing for truth and equity which led to the election of Senator Okpebohlo as Edo APC Governorship candidate”
“ I must not fail to also appreciate our leader Comrade Adams Oshiomole, he is a human being and entitled to his own Opinion, irrespective of his position and the stands he took in the just concluded primary elections, he still remained our leader. We will come together to reconcile ourselves and move forward. We are one family, sometimes we disagree to agree”
The APC leader explained that Edo APC members across the State actually voted for Senator Okpebohlo to become the party Governorship candidate in order to shift power to Edo Central for the purpose of equity.
He thanked APC delegates who participated in the governorship primary for demonstrating genuine patriotism and commitment to the unity of the party in Edo state by supporting power shift to Edo Central.
“ I sincerely appreciate Edo APC leaders and members for the confidence they have reposed in Senator Monday Okpebholo, by electing him the APC Governorship candidate, and by which the Edo APC have reaffirmed that democracy is all about equity and inclusiveness. They are indeed the true heroes of our democracy by supporting rotation of power to Edo Central”
