According to sources, Premier League powerhouse Arsenal has contacted Napoli about a possible deal for in-demand Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who is hoping to sign with them.

With 67 goals in 119 appearances across all competitions, the 25-year-old has made a name for himself as one of the most prolific attackers in Europe during his three and a half years with Napoli.

Osimhen won the Golden Boot and led the Partenopei to their first Scudetto championship in thirty years last season with 26 goals in 32 Serie A games.

In December, the Nigerian international, who is presently serving at the Africa Cup of Nations, signed a contract extension with Napoli that will keep him there until June 2026.

However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis announced last weekend that Osimhen would be leaving the team in the summer despite rumors that he was being courted by several elite European teams.

De Laurentiis stated that Osimhen was likley to join Real Madrid, PSG or a top English club, with Arsenal and Chelsea believed to be main contenders from the Premier League for his signature.
