A late-night fire destroyed 40 shops in Kano.

A late-night fire outbreak on Tuesday in the Kumbotso local government area of Kano State destroyed 40 stores worth millions of naira.

The 40 shops in question were part of a large commercial shopping complex in Kano.

According to eyewitness accounts, the flames destroyed approximately 40 businesses on the premises, which are near Zawaciki Housing Estate.

Another eyewitness, Musa Ahmad, told journalists that the affected shops included food stores, cement shops, POS outlets, and many more.

The roaring fire was extinguished only after the State Fire Service worked alongside three water trucks.

Saminu Abdullah, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Kano State Fire Service, verified the occurrence but requested additional time to conduct an investigation in order to provide more information.
