In Ondo State, a middle-aged man named Peter Adebayo is accused of killing his friend Lekan.
The act was allegedly performed by the suspect while under the influence of drugs.
The incident occurred near the Ireakari-Oloko intersection in Akure, the state capital, the News Agency learned on Monday.
Newsmen were told by sources who verified the occurrence that Adebayo killed his companion after taking “ice,” a crystal form of narcotics including amphetamines.
One of the sources, who resides in the same neighbourhood as the suspect but pleaded anonymity, alleged that the pipes used in taking the ice were found in the room.
He further alleged that both the suspect and the victim took the drug before the incident happened.
According to him, a friend of the victim raised an alarm when he discovered the deceased in a pool of blood.
“We still don’t know why he killed his friend (Lekan). When we asked him, he was saying unintelligible things. Both of them are from Ede town in Osun.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the incident, saying the police have arrested the suspect.
