Alhaji Mamman Jibrin Gurku , the first class staff emir of Gurku town of Karu Local Government Area and his wife, are still in the hands of their abductors six days and running.
The situation which has left residents of the area in perpetual worries , despite the deployment of security who have intensified search for the kidnapped emir and his wife to ensure he was rescue unhurt, there appear to be no solution insight.
However , news agency gathered that contact has been established between the abductors and some members of the Gurku residents who are closed family members of the abducted emir.
According to a source from the area , name with held, he said the kidnappers of the emir and his wife are seeking a ransome of over a Hundred Million Naira through telephone conversation before they can release the monarch.
This is without the involvement of the security who have continue in their effort since Sunday night when the information got to them about the invasion and subsequent kidnap of the emir at around 10 pm on Sunday night.
It would be recalled that the emir and his wife were taken away to an unknown destination by unknown persons.
Search to rescue the abducted monarch and his wife was launched by the Nasarawa State Police Command along with the vigilantes who curbed the hills and bushes but no contact was reached yet. But our correspondent gathered that members of Gurku community were contacted and the emir’s voice was heard through a telephone call which he (emir) pleaded that the security be asked to stay away to enable his safety , as their continuous search for him will be at his risk which may lead to killing him.
At the moment, the kidnappers are demanding a ransome of over One Hundred Million Naira to set the monarch and his wife free.
