Forbes Real-Time Billionaires reports that Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has restored his position as Africa’s richest person.

Dangote’s post was taken over by South African business magnate Johann Ruper last week.
In January 2023, Rupert’s net worth was $10.7 billion, whilst Dangote’s had increased by $10 million to $10.1 billion, according to the ranking as of January 8.

Forbes lists Rupert at 197th in the world and Dangote, the head of the Dangote Group, at 191st.
