Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike has assured residents of the nation’s capital that every area council in the territory will feel the impact of the administration’s development, irrespective of party affiliations.

Wike, who stated this when he flagged-off the construction and rehabilitation of a 5km asphalt dual carriage way project in Kuje area council on Monday, said his administration would continue to execute projects in the area councils without regards to party differences.

The minister assured the chairmen of the six area councils in FCT that his administration would complete all abandoned projects in their areas, in addition to the new ones, as far as such projects have good impact on residents.

He explained that the flag-off of the construction and rehabilitation of the 5kmdual carriage way in Kuje is part of the 30km road projects he promised to construct in the six area councils of the territory.

Wike also used the occasion to advise contractors handling various projects in the FCT to take the assignment very, serious, without compromising the quality, adding that the administration would not tolerate any contractor that delays or compromises project qualities in the FCT.

He reiterated that the FCT administration would not award any contract for any project if it does not have the money to pay for it, even as he stated that money has been made available for the completion of the awarded projects.

Speaking earlier, the chairman of Kuje area council, Hon Abdullahi Sabo, while thanking thei minister for the project, noted that this is the first time an FCT minister is flagging off a project in the area council.

Sabo noted that the new Kuje dual carriage way, when completed, would facilitate movement and reduce insecurity in the area, even as he pledged to give the administration the needed support for the interest of Kuje residents and other residents of the nation’s capital.

an interview, a stakeholder and developer in Kuje community, Chief Ojo Patrick, noted that the road project in Kuje would impact positively on every residents of the community.

Patrick said, “As a stakeholder in FCT and a believer in the ability of President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the minister of FCT Chief Nyelson Wike to transform the FCT with all the satellite towns

We have seen what the FCT minister is doing in the other parts of the territory, including the metropolis. And we thank that it is our turn today.

We know that the minister is a sincere person and anywhere he goes, and makes promises and his intentions known, he fulfils them.”
