Yango introduces Yango Express to improve bulk deliveries across Africa

Yango

Cargo Express is available in the Yango app’s Delivery area and provides a selection of vehicles appropriate for transporting items of enormous size and weight.

Furthermore, the functionality ensures that clients are only charged the amount displayed when they place an order by providing transparent and upfront pricing.

Consumers may track the movement of their items on the Yango in-app map and receive push notifications about delivery status, keeping them updated throughout the order execution process.

Ireoluwa Obatoki, Yango Delivery’s Head of Business Development for Africa, remarked that the debut of Cargo Express highlights the company’s dedication to using technology to improve urban delivery services.

This generates new revenue potential for logistics businesses’ local partners and couriers, while also ensuring clear and transparent pricing in Africa’s delivery industry.

“The growing popularity of online shopping emphasizes the necessity for dependable delivery services for large commodities. Cargo Express intends to fill this void by providing a dependable and clear alternative,” Obatoki said.

This functionality is an enhancement to Yango’s existing offerings. The company offers ride-hailing (Yango), light package delivery by motorcycle (Yango Delivery), and food delivery alternatives (Yango Deli), all of which provide a broad range of daily services in one app.

Yango collaborated with MTN in December 2023 to improve the working circumstances of its driving partners by providing them with free data packages.

Meanwhile, in February 2024, the firm raised its ride-hailing fares by 23% in an effort to support drivers and alleviate economic hardship while also offering a suitable environment for them to work and improve their lives.
