Prof. (Arc) Geoff Onyejegbu, a New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chieftain and senatorial candidate in the previous general election, stated that former Kano State Governor Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso would prioritize security if elected president in 2027.

Onyejegbu, a retired Army Colonel and former Nigerian Military Attaché to the United States in the Washington DC Mission, believes Kwankwaso’s presidency holds the key to effectively overcome all forms of insurgency and terrorism in the country.

The NNPP chieftain made the statement at the Kwankwasiya Movement’s victory celebration in Kano, following the Supreme Court’s confirmation of Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf as Kano State governor.

According to the professor, Kwankwaso’s track record of administration and commitment to security measures as a previous governor and minister of defense qualify him as the best option to address the critical security concerns.

He further stated that Kwankwaso, as governor of Kano State, developed creative security methods that drastically lowered crime rates while restoring peace and stability to the state.

Onyejegbu praised the former governor’s abilities to address complicated security concerns with a combination of pragmatism and determination.

He stated that Kwankwaso’s comprehensive security strategy stresses socioeconomic development and community participation in addition to military operations.

“This holistic approach is crucial for addressing the root causes of insurgency and terrorism and fostering lasting peace and stability across the nation,” remarked the prime minister.

He thus urged well-meaning Nigerians from all walks of life to rally support for the Kano-born politician in the run-up to the 2027 general elections, noting that Nigerians have a responsibility to consider Senator Kwankwaso’s proven leadership credentials and vision for a safer, more prosperous Nigeria.

He did, however, reiterate the NNPP’s steadfast support for Kwankwaso’s presidential bid, noting his demonstrated ability to lead Nigeria into a future free of insurgency and terrorism.
