Contempt Of Court: Bauchi Police Declare Vocal Islamic Cleric Wanted

The Bauchi State Police Command has designated Dr. Idris Abdul’azeez Dutsen Tanshi, a prominent Islamic cleric, as wanted for alleged contempt of court.

In a Special Gazette Bulletin issued by the Inspector-General of Police on Thursday, police authorities in the state requested anyone with information on the cleric’s whereabouts to contact the State Police Command or the local police station.

It also stated that any person with information leading to Dutsen Tanshi’s arrest will receive a “handsome reward.”.

Recall that the Upper Shari’a Court 1 in Bauchi issued a bench warrant against the renowned Islamic preacher after he refused to appear in court to continue his trial in an alleged instigation of public disturbance.
